It is sponsored by the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce. and put on by an all volunteer workforce. The Collage celebrates spring in Jefferson County and trumpets our countys three primary cultures, Anglo, Native American and Hispanic. Music, a centerpiece of the festival, joins an explosion of visual and performing art, ethnic dancing, arts & crafts, children's activities and tantalizing cuisine all reflecting our various cultures. This is the 7th year for the Collage and it will be held on Saturday, May 20th, 2000. It takes place in Friendship Park off Fourth Street (Sth Highway 97) in Madras, near Westside Elementary School. The festival features many activities including Central Oregons largest hot air balloon event which begins Saturday morning at 7am and ends with a colorful show at dusk (weather permitting).
