The Jaycee Creed

We believe;
That faith in God gives meaning and Purpose to Human Life;
That the brotherhood of man transcends the sovereignty of nations;
That economic justice can best be won by free men through free enterprise;
That government should be of laws rather than of men;
That earth's great treasure lies in human personality;
And that service to humanity is the best work of life!

There is a line in the Jaycee Creed that states "Service to humanity is the best work of life". This I truly believe.  My service has two prongs, Government service i.e. military and public servant and Community service through the Jaycee's, Lions, Chamber of Commerce and serving on various committees.

Semper Fidelis (Always Faithful)

The United States Marine Corps is known as the "First to Fight" among America's armed forces. This role is a very intriguing aspect of the Marine Core. This first to fight philosophy was made clear and put into action by the second session of the 82nd Congress in 1952. They stated that the Marine Corps must be:

    "A versatile expeditionary force in readiness"
    "A Balanced force for a Naval campaign and a ground and air striking force"
    "Always at a high state of readiness"
    "Ready to suppress or contain international disturbances short of war"
    "To be most ready when the nation is least ready"

EYE, SIGHT & HEARING- For more than sixty years, Lions have been recognized throughout the world for their services to the blind and visually impaired. A majority of the world's eye banks are established and supported by Lions, as are hundreds of clinics, hospitals and eye research centers. Lions provide thousands each year with free quality eye examinations, eyeglasses and eye care. We also collect and recycle eyeglasses and support research for diabetes and diabetic eye disease (which includes diabetes awareness and education at the local level).

The Peace Corps is an organization filled with men and women who live and work in another country for two years. The people who serve in the Peace Corps are "Volunteers" who share their skills with people at the grass-roots level to help solve some of the most important challenges that face communities in the developing world.

Peace Corps volunteers build the bridges of cross-cultural understanding with the people of other countries. They help the people of other countries learn more about who we are as Americans, and at the same time, they bring home with them a better understanding of the peoples and cultures.
