There are a total of 26 people employed by the city of Madras. 

The city presently contracts with the Jefferson County Planning and Building Department for city planning and building inspection services. The Planning Commission meets on the first Tuesday of very month at 7:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers next to Madras City Hall.

A City Administrator oversees the everyday management of city affairs assisted by a treasurer who is responsible for management of city finances and a city recorder.

A Mayor and six Madras City Council members are responsible for operation of the city government. The council meets at 7:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month in the City Council Chambers next to Madras City Hall, at 71 S/W. D St. City Hall can be reached at (541) 475-2344.
