Mission Statement: |
The Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce serves as the reception room for visitors to the county, and a hub for local activities for residents. The office provides a friendly greeting and is always ready with information. The Chamber of Commerce is the voice of business in all forms of community and governmental affairs. Members can display their brochures in the Chamber's lobby and insert flyers in an monthly newsletter, which also contains information about special meetings, events and promotions within the community The Chamber markets and promotes industrial property, agriculture and tourism on local, regional, statewide and national levels. The Chamber also organizes and sponsors regular forums for the community on a wide range of topics, which cover political, social and economic issues. Members are ambassadors of goodwill, building community spirit by participating in activities like parades and special events, including the Town Party, Collage of Culture and Christmas tree lighting ceremonies The Chamber sponsors monthly forums, political forums at election time, open houses and weekly networking opportunities. Parris Van Wert is the Chamber's Executive Director, Nicole Janiszewski is Administrative Coordinator and Shannon Sjolund, Communications Coordinator. The Chamber features several teams (consisting of members & involved residents) whom focus on specific areas. These include: tourism, merchants, education, special events, beautification, the Collage of Culture, legislative and agriculture, and membership. The Chamber also provides a monthly newsletter and calendar of events to its membership. |
