The Madras Pioneer - Established in 1904, the Pioneer covers all of Jefferson County. Its a weekly paper distributed on Wednesday mornings. It has a circulation of approximately 3,800. KWSO - "The Station on the Reservation" is the only station that broadcasts and operates solely out of Jefferson County. Located at FM 91.9, the station mixes Native American music news and music with classic pop hits and dance music. IT also broadcasts some Madras High School athletic events. Jefferson County is also served by a six-day-a-week newspaper, The Bend Bulletin, television stations based out of Bend. (KTVZ, an NBC affiliate) and Powell Butte (Channel 48) and several AM and FM radio stations.
